GPT-6.2 Astra API: three uses worth watching

We do not know whether these demos used 6.2, and EvoLink has not tested them. The graphics and animation are made with code.

Make illustrations and animation with code

Community posts show a cycling pelican and an SVG game controller. Could work like this become illustrations and animation you can use and keep editing on a website?

Try this when access opens: Change a color, size or movement. Check whether it still displays correctly and how many fixes it takes.

Build a small game you can play

FiniYang shared a small RPG demo. The interesting question is whether character movement, the map and game controls work together when someone actually plays.

Try this when access opens: Walk around, switch scenes, open the inventory and add a game mechanic. Check for stuck movement or broken existing features.

Keep editing after the animation is made

Leo compared two animations and preferred Fable’s detail and storytelling. He was also unsure whether his Astra run used 6.2. The example raises another question: how easy is it to make changes?

Try this when access opens: Swap two scenes or change a line of text. Check the pacing, playback and number of revisions before it is usable.

We will update this page when OpenAI confirms the model or EvoLink finishes testing access.

What to prepare before GPT-6.2 Astra API access opens

Save a few tasks you already use and decide what a good result should look like. You can compare them when the new model is available.

1

Keep examples from your current model

Run typical coding and document tasks with an available GPT model. Save the prompts, dependencies, model settings, first answers and notes on fixes.

2

Decide what a good result needs to do

Check that the code passes tests, does what you asked, cites sources correctly and keeps running. Note anything you still need to fix by hand.

3

Track what each finished task costs

Use the same reasoning setting. Record input, output and cached tokens, retries, total time, manual edits and the bill. Compare tasks that actually met your requirements.

4

Keep the model name in a setting

Choose the model in your EvoLink API settings. When the new model opens, try a few tasks to check inputs, tool calls and errors. Keep your current model ready if something fails.

Keep working while you wait for GPT-6.2 Astra

You can use available models through EvoLink’s unified API now. Before moving real work to a new model, check its instructions and try a few tasks.

GPT-6.2 Astra API questions

Has GPT-6.2 Astra been announced?

We found no entry for this name in the official model list or API changelog checked on November 3, 2026. Community reports do not confirm a separate public model; private testing is still possible.

Can I call gpt-6.2-astra through EvoLink?

Not yet. The name appears in community reports, but it is not a confirmed API model ID. There is no verified 6.2 request or CLI command to share here.

What is the release date?

Neither an OpenAI release date nor an EvoLink access date was confirmed in the sources checked. We will add dates when they are confirmed.

How much will the API cost?

There are no confirmed GPT-6.2 Astra prices here yet. Older Astra prices and community predictions do not tell us what it will cost.

Which API format will GPT-6.2 Astra use?

The API format is not confirmed. Read the instructions when access opens before reusing a request written for an older Astra model.

What input sizes, file types and tools can it handle?

Context size, output limits, input and output types, reasoning settings, tools and API formats are not confirmed. Older Astra settings may not apply. Its relationship to GPT-6.1 Astra or Bel / Betelgeuse is also unconfirmed.

Can I get beta access by signing up?

No. You will receive EvoLink access updates. Signing up does not give you private-test access or reserve a place.

What can I use now?

You can use GPT-6 Astra or GPT-6.1 Terra. Their pages explain supported options and prices. The artwork on this page is an illustration, not a verified GPT-6.2 Astra result.
