Kling 4.0 controls: keyframes, references and editing

Plan your video workflow with keyframe control, multimodal references, targeted editing and native audio.

Define key shots with keyframes

Keyframe images define visual milestones along the timeline. Plan an opening composition, a product reveal and a closing frame, then describe the action between them. Use up to 10 keyframe images to guide a native clip of up to 30 seconds.

Give each reference a creative job

Omni Reference uses images, video and subjects to guide appearance, motion and style. Assign a product photograph to appearance and a source clip to camera pacing. Give each asset a clear role in the creative brief.

Revise footage around a specific change

Kling describes targeted changes to subjects, backgrounds, expressions and camera direction. For a campaign variation, specify the change and the product details that should remain. Review both the revised region and the parts you intended to preserve.

Plan dialogue and sound with the scene

Kling describes native stereo audio and lip sync. Dialogue-led clips can be planned around a transcript, delivery and ambient sound. Check the actual voice, timing and synchronization before treating an output as a finished deliverable.

Evaluate Kling 4.0 against a real delivery brief

Use the same assets and acceptance criteria to compare continuity, timing, revisions and cost per accepted clip.

Product and character continuity

Check packaging, logos, faces and clothing across camera changes. Count rejected clips as well as the final selection.

Storyboard and timing

Mark required events before generation. Review their order, transitions and timing rather than judging only the best frame.

Revision and audio checks

Change one target and inspect the untouched scene. For dialogue or music, check lip sync and timing; record editing work outside the model.

Cost per accepted clip

Divide total generation charges by accepted clips. Track retries, waiting time and post-production separately before comparing workflows.

What can teams build with Kling 4.0?

Explore workflows for product ads, recurring characters and campaign variations, with clear inputs and acceptance criteria.

1

Product ads with a planned reveal

Prepare approved product views and a sequence covering the opening, demonstration and closing composition. Choose the creation mode that fits those assets. Judge whether packaging, action and the final frame satisfy the brief across the whole clip.

2

Short stories featuring the same characters

Bring a character sheet, scene direction and the story moments you need to preserve. Evaluate identity and action continuity through changes of view. Keep voice and timing notes with the visual brief for dialogue-heavy scenes.

3

Campaign variations from existing footage

Start with an approved clip and one requested revision, such as a new setting or product treatment. Record which details must stay intact. Compare accepted outputs, retries and post-production time before choosing a route for repeated work.

Choose a current Kling route by task

Use EvoLink’s unified API gateway to evaluate an existing route for your task while Kling 4.0 API access on EvoLink is in prelaunch.

Generate a new clip

Start with Kling 3.0 for text-to-video or image-to-video. Check its supported input mode and per-second rate against your brief.
